No, your eyes did not play tricks on you. It is correct, I said to pore strip with Elmer's glue! Why? Well...
- I can't pore stripe with over the counter products because they are an irritant to my skin... literally!
- They don't always do the job every time. When I feel it has missed a spot then I feel I have to re-strip that area. Which is a no-no for my skin. It would not just be red but hurts for a good oh while. Yip....
- Elmers glue is none toxic, gentle and does not irritate my skin.
- It is CHEAP! Way cheap compare to about $10 a box with maybe enough to strip your pores about three sessions. I stripe my pores about once to twice a week. How much is a bottle of elmers glue, right? Maybe $2!
So, to sum it up it is cheaper and EFFECTIVE. Why not give it a try peeps? Below you will find before and after pictures. I know, it's kind of on the eww pictures. I just want ya'll to see that this works okay. lol ;)
FYI... One more thing. I forgot to mention that I have had this pore family living on my face since I was a teen. My mom has them, her mom had them and they gave these to me. No matter what product I use or I should say we use, they are NEVER going away! The only thing you can do is clean it out, tighten it and make their appearance less noticeable. Any ways, watch the videos below if you are to lazy to read the details. If you are not lazy and want future details to this matter and the products I used then please proceed. Oh, do not leave nasty comments for me because I have giant and ugly looking pores. I know they are there, I know how they look and I don't need a reminder.. lol
As you can see from the pictures above that this stuff really works! Here are the steps...
- Before anything is done, you need to wash your face. I like to wash with a face scrub. Why? You need to get all the dead skin and build-up off of the skin. You want to be able to get down to the pores not the dirty top layer only. I'm sure you got the point.
- Steam your face if you can or use a warm towel. Be careful not to use hot water or towel to avoid burning your self. Heat equal opening your pores but not cooking your self. If you don't know how to steam your face then Google it. You can skip this step if you do not wish to do so but I find it very effective at removing debris. The glue will still work with out this process. I do the facial steaming because it allows the pores to open up. Which can only mean one thing --> The glue can get deep down and pull more out! That is the ultimate goal here, right?
- This step is not necessary but I do because it works better for me. I use a cup and dip the bottle of glue in to warm water. This softens the glues and makes it easier to apply. The glue alone at room temperature is cooler when applied to the face and that little chill will makes the pores close up. The equation here is: Heat = Open Pores and Cold = Close Pores. You want the pores to be open, trust me.
- Apply a very thin layer of glue on the desired area. Paste it across the area for coverage and then add a little more with a patting motion. The patting motion will help the glue sink in to the pores and not just sit on the surface of the pores. Be careful not get glue on any hair, AT ALL! It will wax those little suckers off! Don't say I didn't warn you. Make sure the glue application is thin and not too thick. It won't be able to dry evenly and won't peal with the effect that you want it to peal. You'll learn the consistency of application once you've done this once or twice.
- The glue should be clear and feel tight on the face once completely dry. It should take maybe 5-8 minutes depending how thin or thick you applied the glue. Peal it off slowly and gently. Try pealing from the out side in or which ever angle works for you. I find pealing from the outer corners of the face in take off more build up.
- Go rinse your face and make sure there isn't any glue residue left on your skin. You can stop here and skip the rest of the steps below if you are feeling lazy. To get a better result then please continue. Steam once again or use warm towel.
- Use your favorite face mask or which ever one available.. I used the FREEMAN (brand) Facial Clay Mask AVOCADO & OATMEAL.. It claims to purge pores, firm and smooths skin. I normally just smash an avocado on my face. My stomach got greedy so I use the FREEMAN mask in this video. The best thing to do is to find a mask that targets your skin problems/type (oily, dry, etc.). Let dry and rinse.
- Follow up with a face moisturizer. I used two products in this video. I change products from time to time but these are my favorites to use after a mini facial. I use the ESTEE LAUDER (brand) Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Re-finisher. This has helped my pores look tighter and smaller (for the meantime). I only apply this on my T-Zone (look it up if you don't know what is this area is) and finish off my facial with the BURT'S BEES (name of brand) Intense Hydration Night Cream. This is the best moisturizer out of all my moisturizers I've used!
Here are other products I use in this video.
- Freeman - Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmean
- Burt;s Bees - Intense Hydration Night Cream with Clary Sage
- Estee Leauder - Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher
- The Body Shop - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial
- Lancome - Genifique Eye You Activating Eye Concentrate
