Question & Answers

Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

I believe that each artist has their own style. However, I don't have a set style for all of my clients. I help create a style for each client depending on who they are as an individual and what look they want to achieve. I always tell my lady clients, "I can't make you look like Kim Kardashian but I can create a similar look that will compliment you." Each client is unique. I believe that every artist should be able to create a look that not only achieves the look that their client desires, but also best complements them as an individual.

What do you like most about your job?

When clients smile and tell me they haven't felt this good in a long time, seeing them so excited and can't wait to attend their events because they feel like a million dollars . That is heart warming every time. My clients bring my art to life! Seeing my art transition from a concept to a final look, watching my art walk, move and blink is an amazing feeling. No two clients are the same. That makes each of my clients special and the art I've created with them unique in every way.

What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

Q: Do I need to provide any products for my appointment?

A: No, you do not. I provide Full service from face wash, primers, concealers, foundation and settings. A professional makeup artist should never ask you to provide any products!

Q: I had a bad makeup experience with a previous makeup artist resulting in an infectious breakout. Do you clean your makeup?

A: Yes, I do. I clean my makeup brushes and makeup kit prior to and during every service. I also use disposable products where it’s required and practical. I make sanitary practices my  priority to ensure that my clients receive safe and relaxing service with no worries.

If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade?

Your makeup artists should understand and be able to match the foundation to your skin tone so you can avoid looking too yellow or pink and your makeup will blend to your neck and shoulders without any sign of demarcation.

Your makeup artists should use sanitary practices to avoid passing infections or causing breakouts on clients.

Your makeup artist should know the color theory and be able to coordinate and amplify colors that will stand out and blend beautifully with your skin tone and features.

Makeup artistry is not slapping on tons of makeup and hiding your face but emphasizing and enhancing your features.

Do you have a favorite story /memories from your work?

Well, there are too many to choose from. I would have to write a book! Hmm... maybe I will one day. My favorites are always from weddings. You hear wonderful stories of how people from different backgrounds, from all walks of life come together and it is very heart warming to see two people about to start a whole new life together.
